Meet the two newest cast additions for OutlanderSeason 4 -- a pair of Northern Innuit puppies who will be a major part of the show's fourth season, which will begin filming later in 2017.
SEE ALSO: 'Outlander' Season 3: 10 burning questions we have about Claire and Jamie's reunionThe pups, which were born eight weeks ago, will share the role of Rollo, a wolf hybrid who might have a ferocious appearance, but is a loyal, protective and beloved member of the Fraser clan.
Rollo has a penchant for getting into trouble, often sticking his large, wet nose into places it doesn’t belong, and will play a key part in the adventure that lies ahead.
These fluffy stars won't appear on screen until they're grown, but they're currently being trained in Scotland to prepare them for their new job.
Season 4 of Outlanderwill be based on the fourth book in Diana Gabaldon's bestselling series of novels, Drums of Autumn.
Gabaldon shared her take on the Season 4 casting news with EW: "They look cute, but tough. They should be just rightto play Rollo when the time comes. They’d need to growl and look menacing on command, I think, and carry back prey of one kind or another to their master. I assume they wouldn’t let them catch things on camera … especially fish, of course.”
Who is their master? Not Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan), as fans who haven't read the books might assume. Rollo technically belongs to Jamie's nephew, Young Ian Murray (John Bell), who you'll get to know a little better in Season 3.
Production on OutlanderSeason 3, which will premiere in September, is currently underway in South Africa. Prepare yourself for the new season with our handy guide detailing everything you need to know about OutlanderSeason 3.
