DingTalk,TV Series Archives Alibaba Cloud’s business communication and collaboration platform, will develop independently after Alibaba Cloud spins off from Alibaba Group to seek an IPO, according to an August 15 report by Chinese news agency Caixin. DingTalk will not go public as part of Alibaba Cloud, and its chief operating officer Ku Wei will leave DingTalk and return to Alibaba Cloud, the report stated. DingTalk has been operating as an independent business unit overseen by Alibaba Cloud, a source familiar with the matter told Caixin. Following the move, Alibaba Cloud and DingTalk will maintain close business cooperation, the source added. Originally incubated as an internal project at Alibaba in 2014, DingTalk became part of the Alibaba Cloud Intelligence Group in 2019. According to data from business intelligence services provider Quest Mobile, DingTalk’s monthly active users have remained stable at around 200 million in the past two years. [Caixin, in Chinese]
