Engineer Josh Wardle originally created Wordleas a gift for his partner, however it quickly grew into an international phenomenon. Thousands of people around the world now play the word puzzle game daily, some even creating alternate versions of Wordle. These include battle royale Squabble, music identification game Heardle, and variations like Dordleand Quordlethat make you guess multiple words at once.
Wordleeven became so popular that the New York Times bought it earlier this year, and TikTok creators have live streamed themselves attempting to solve it.

The best Wordlestarting word is the one that brings you joy. But if what brings you joy is being strategic, we have a few ideas to help you select your opening move. One useful tip: Select a word with at least two different vowels in it, as well as common consonants like S, T, R, or N.
While the entire archive of past Wordles was once readily accessible to the word-loving public, it has since been taken down. According to the website's creator, this tragedy was brought about at the request of The New York Times.
Wordle isn't getting harder, but it does have a Hard Mode you can enable if you're after a bigger challenge. Unfortunately, there is no easy mode.
