"There's some imagery that tells a story," Perry told Seacrest on the red carpet. "Just pay attention to the narrative."

Perry sang in a white pantsuit -- a tribute to the suffragette movement and her girl, Hillary Clinton, who won a Grammy herself in 1996 for the audiobook of It Takes a Village. She accessorized with a sparkly armband reading, "resist."
The setup was kind of a Truman Showversion of the USA, with a white picket fence and not much else.
Eventually it turns into hell.
At the end of the performance, after some pretty great jumps, she and collaborator Skip Marley held hands in front of the Declaration of Independence.
