Graduation caps,Secret Confessions (2025) Banana Cue Episode 41 or "mortarboards," are annoying to wear and objectively weird looking. But they're even more annoying when they're constantly falling off your head.

If you haveto wear one, though (okay, they're a symbol of your hard work and education, so we guess it's kind of cool), here's how to keep it on your head. Not permanently, but for the duration of the ceremony.

1. Try not to wear the cap too far back on your head.

If possible, the cap should partially cover your forehead. If you angle it too far back, it's much more likely to tumble off your head during an embrace with your great-aunt.

Not sure if you're doing it right? A good rule of thumb is that if you feel deeply unchill, you are probably wearing your cap correctly.

2. Hairspray and pins are your new closest friends.

If you think your fondest graduation memories will be with your friends and family, you're wrong. Your fondest memories will be with hairspray and hairpins, your two most beloved pals.

Spritzing your hair with a texturizer -- hairspray, sea salt spray, whatever you have -- will help keep the cap in place. As for the pins, it's pretty obvious: use them to attach your hair to the cap. You can even store extra bobby pins on your tassel. (Please don't do this.)

And if your hair doesn't allow the skullcap to fit snugly around your head, whatever. Pin the cap right onto your hair instead. Bonus: now you can wear it at whatever angle you want.

3. Put a headband in there.

Pinterest denizens are big fans of securing your cap by sewing, hot gluing, or pinning a headband to the inside. Easy enough, right?

4. As soon as you get the cap, just throw it in the air.

Pretend you didn't know you were supposed to wait until the end of graduation to throw your cap in the air, and pitch it into an open field the first chance you get. You did the homework and passed the tests, so you can finish your education however you want. Stick it to the man, recent grad!
