It hasn't been a week since Nintendo shared a first look at its hybrid living room/handheld gaming machine. The brief debut trailer showcased form and function, but offered little more information than that.

The guts of Switch are encased in a tablet that also plugs into a base station, for displaying game data on your TV. Different configurations and controllers -- including adorable little "Joy-Con" controllers for party settings -- allow for at-home or on-the-go play.
Nintendo's debut trailer showed Switch playing an assortment of games, including known Switch launch title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildand a surprise Nintendo platform debut for Bethesda's The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. The stream will include more details on the hardware's launch lineup.
Other regions of the world will get an up-close look at Switch sometime after the Jan. 12 presentation. Nintendo's announcement also adds that there will be hands-on events open to the public "around the same time."
