The free video call sexBoring Company may have risen out of a pun, but with each passing day it gets more serious.
On Wednesday, Elon Musk shared a video on Instagram showing an elevator taking a Tesla Model S underground.

The video shows the elevator next to the tunnel entrance, presumably at the SpaceX company lot where the Boring Company has been digging its first tunnels.
The elevator itself doesn't look groundbreaking in any way, but it's interesting to see the project develop this quickly.
In Dec. 2016, Musk tweeted about horrific Los Angeles traffic, saying he's going to "build a tunnel boring machine and just start digging." Minutes later, The Boring Company was born.
Although Musk himself referred to the endeavor as a side project, lately it's been picking up speed. In April 2017, Musk revealed a video showing the tunnels, the elevators and the sleds.
In June, he said he had a "promising" conversation with the L.A. mayor about building a tunnel network under the city.
And last week, he said he's got "verbal government approval" to build tunnels in eastern U.S. cities including New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore and Washington DC.
