The Laruanwait is over, Nashvillefans -- after being cancelled by ABC in May and revived by CMT in June, the country music drama will be back on our screens this December.
CMT is rewarding patient fans with a sneak peek at the first hour of Nashville'stwo-hour Season 5 premiere on Dec. 15 at 9 p.m., almost a month ahead of the show's official CMT debut on Jan. 5.
For the cord-cutters out there, Hulu will debut the Nashvillesneak peek on Dec. 16, and will continue to be the official digital home of the series (Seasons 1-4 are still available on the streaming network), offering episodes online the day after they air on CMT.
We also have our first look at Season 5 courtesy of a new trailer (above), which offers a quick refresher on where we left off before giving us a glimpse at what's coming up -- including a look inside Juliette's plane just before it goes down.
According to a summary from CMT, Season 5 begins with Rayna and Deacon facing a new normal with Maddie now back home and Highway 65 struggling financially. The shocking news about Juliette creates a wave of emotions throughout Nashville and sets Rayna off on a journey of discovery.
Nashvillestars returning for Season 5 include Connie Britton as Rayna Jaymes, Hayden Panettiere as Juliette Barnes, Clare Bowen as Scarlett O’Connor, Chris Carmack as Will Lexington, Charles Esten as Deacon Claybourne, Jonathan Jackson as Avery Barkley, Sam Palladio as Gunnar Scott, Maisy Stella as Daphne Conrad and Lennon Stella as Maddie Conrad.
