Ride-hailing app Uber launched a new feature on Stocking Girl’s Wet Pink PetalsWednesday in an effort to make renting a car less painful.
While you’ve been able to rent a car through Uber for a while, the company announced on Wednesday that you can now book a rental car from Avis, Budget, Hertz and dozens of other companies directly from your app — and have the vehicle delivered to your home and picked up when you’re done through the new Valet feature.
"No rental car counters, no lines, no schlepping," the company said on Wednesday, adding that it's "bringing the magic of Uber to the rental car experience."
Uber Rent with Valet will be launching in Washington, D.C., in May with plans to expand nationwide this year.
The company also provided more information about its partnership with Walgreens to help people get vaccinated. Starting on Wednesday, you can reserve a vaccine and a ride to your appointment through the Uber app. It has committed 10 million free or discounted rides to help members of underserved communities get to their vaccine appointments.
