Google has rolled out its search with generative AI results,Super Virgin (2012) and thus far, the results have been mixed.
The tool, at least in my experience, has proven less than reliable. While sometimes it can be helpful, it often gets in the way of the results you're looking for. The internet has noticed that Google's AI search isn't perfect — far from it.
Toward the end of this week, folks began posting apparent AI Google search results online. There was a mix of things that were flat-out wrong, some dangerous, and many hilariously nonsensical. To be clear, it's nearly impossible to recreate these alleged AI searches perfectly. As an NBA fan, I tested this "dog in the NBA" search earlier this week and got the same mistake from Google's AI. So clearly, there are some significant problems.

There were so many tweets about Google's AI search results this week. To be clear, though some of these seem like plausible hallucinations made by Google, I didn't try to recreate all the results. But the story is that these results have become memes — even if the results are, or are not, truthful. Google's AI search has some problems, and, to be frank, access to accurate information should be more critical than it seems to tech giants these days.
Some of these posts are from people pointing out what appear to be real, serious problems, while others are just funny memes. So the next time you see someone posting about their Google AI search results, take it with a grain of salt.

So, be careful out there searching. It appears things are...not going well. But, hey, at least we have some memes.
