There aren't many mobile games that can Pihitstand the test of time.
That's why many consider Tiny Wings, a whimsical yet infuriatingly addictive game that came years before Flappy Bird, one of the best games to ever land on the iPhone. On Thursday, Tiny Wings'developer gave fans an early Christmas present with the games first update in more than two years.

Also new: an Apple TV app, which requires a separate $2.99 purchase. We haven't had a chance to play it yet, but developer Andreas Illiger offered a preview and it looks like it should be well-worth the investment to hardcore fans.
Finally, the update gave the game's graphics a much needed boost which support the higher resolution screens of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (remember, the game's last update was in August 2014 just before the iPhone 6 was released.)
Illiger first released Tiny Wings in 2011 and the app skyrocketed to the top of the App Store charts soon after -- where it's remained despite infrequent updates. Some even argue that its lack of regular updates is why the game has managed to endure all these years. It's simple yet extremely difficult to master and stars a cute bird -- clearly a recipe for App Store success.
